Many of the desktop apps may not even on the list. Apparently, Windows 10 can only collect activities and store them from certain apps. Going through the timeline on one of my computers, there are a lot of activities that are not showing. While the feature seems to be a brilliant idea to have, there are still a lot of work Microsoft needs to put in to make it better. Scroll the bar up and down to view past activities, up to 30 days. You will see a timeline bar on the right side of your main screen with the current activities showing at the top of the timeline. To use it, you can either click the Task View button on the Taskbar or simply press Win + Tab keyboard shortcut. Turn off the button next to Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on the Start or the Taskbar. The Timeline feature is embedded in Task View. There is also a Clear button at the bottom of the settings page to reset Timeline history to have a fresh start. The Id value should map to a key having that ID with all the task details in HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionScheduleTaskCacheTasks. Actual tasks will appear as subkeys containing the values Id, Index and SD. To disable Timeline on your computer, simply turn off the collection option and nothing will be recorded. The SD value is the security descriptor that specifies the permissions for that task folder. If you would like to share the activities across PCs you are using, turn on the option “ Let Windows sync my activities from this PC to the cloud“. Task View is a new desktop feature in Windows 10 that allows users to create multiple desktops on the same Windows PC. Open Settings app, and go to Privacy and Activity history.įirst, check the option “ Let Windows collect my activities from this PC“, and then turn on the switch next to the Microsoft account linked on this computer. Disable all the third-party Start menu customization app installed on your PC and check for any improvements. However, these customization tools sometimes can conflict with the taskbar functionality. You can replace Windows 10 Start menu with third-party applications. I dont think there is a way to disable the task view option via GPO. Disable Start Menu Customization Utilities ![]() Then, open the pinned app in fullscreen, and the taskbar should hopefully not bother you again. If it is not already pinned, right-click on the app you want to use in fullscreen mode, and select Pin to taskbar. Going back and forth a few times seems to have worked for many users. Try to minimize and maximize the fullscreen app window a few times.
